On a hill above Kawana, on the Izu peninsula: a white clapboard house ringed by lawn and tiled terrace, standing alone between the forest and Sagami Bay. A pool, a Swedish sauna, a glass conservatory and a grand piano. A base for the days you go out to the sea, and for the days you never leave at all.

What makes the house special
Garden pool over the bay
A summer pool with a sweeping view. The water ahead simply continues into the Pacific and Sagami Bay. Available until 21:00.
The glass conservatory
A domed conservatory. Beyond the octagon of glass are the pool and the sea; above it, the sky. The brightest room in the house — good for breakfast, and better for reading on a wet afternoon.
A Swedish sauna
A permanent timber-lined Swedish sauna with two tiers of benching, enough for several people at once. Afterwards, step out onto the deck and cool off in the sea air. Available until 22:00, by reservation.
A house made for music
A grand piano and a drum kit, in a double-glazed, sound-insulated room. Please keep the windows fully closed while you play, and finish by around 10 pm. The instruments are valuable, so we ask that you handle them with care. This is a residential villa area — please be considerate of the neighbours.
A jacuzzi with a view
A jacuzzi set against a wide window: from the water you can see the horizon past the trees. A separate shower room adjoins it.
